Here you will enjoy your stay and cherish your time in this tropical paradise with a local twist...

Maafushi is one of the inhabited islands of South Male’ Atoll (also called Kaafu Atoll), located 27 km away from the capital city of Male'.
It takes only 30 minutes by speed boat or 90 minutes by daily ferry to reach Maafushi from Ibrahim Nasir International Airport.

The island, with a length of 1.275 km, a width of 0.260 km, and with a population of approx 2000 is also the capital of the North Central Province (Medhu Uthuru) of the Maldives.

Maafushi has a thriving local economy, with more than 60 families benefiting directly from fishing and tourism industry.
With the new turn in government's regulation in 2010, allowing the opening of Guest Houses on local islands, Maafushi became the first to secure an investment in that sector.

Indeed, the White Shell Beach Inn was open in January of that year, making it the first ever Guest House to be granted a license in a local island.

Maafushi islanders are generally known for their hospitality and welcoming nature, so it seems quite natural to find out that more than 55 other hotels & guest houses have been built since, thus providing the local community with a sustainable inflow of foreign incomes.
